PRESS: KrymTETs, United Engine Corp seek 120-MW plant in Crimea

MOSCOW, Apr 7 (PRIME) -- Russian power company KrymTETs and the United Engine Corporation have proposed a project to build a new gas-fired power generation facility with a capacity of up to 120 megawatts (MW) at the Sakskaya TETs power plant in Crimea, Kommersant business daily reported Friday.

Deputy Energy Minister Vyacheslav Kravchenko said Thursday that the ministry plans to announce a tender for construction of 100–120 MW of additional power capacities in Crimea. KrymTETs plans to participate in this tender, the daily said.

KrymTETs is holding talks on equipment supplies with the United Engine Corporation.

The priority plan implies construction of two combined-cycle gas units with a capacity of 60 MW each.

At present, the Sakskaya TETs has a capacity of 12 MW.

Technopromexport is currently building two power plants in Crimea, but equipment supplies are complicated due to the E.U. and U.S. sanctions.
